Sharks rally back to defeat Titans
The Miami Dade Sharks continued their perfect season with a hard-fought 3-1 victory over the Eastern Florida State College Titans. Despite a slow start, dropping the first set 23-25, Miami Dade rallied to take the next three sets 25-21, 25-17, and 25-21, securing the victory.
Eastern Florida took advantage early in the match, edging out Miami Dade in the opening set. However, Miami Dade quickly regrouped, thanks to the powerful performances of Katielle Altagracia Alonzo Vargas, who led the team with 15 kills and a .286 hitting percentage, and Angelica Rodriguez, who added 14 kills with a .303 hitting percentage.
The third set saw Miami Dade take full control, as they out-hit Eastern Florida with 14 kills on a .176 hitting percentage. Luyeisy Marquez also contributed with 10 kills, hitting .250, while Esthefany Rabit posted 7 kills and 5 block assists, playing a key role on both sides of the net.
Setter Maria Clara Antunes provided 26 assists, spreading the offense efficiently, while Mia Martinez anchored the defense with 18 digs. The Sharks' blocking game was strong, with a total of 12 block assists, led by Rabit, Alonzo Vargas, and Paulina Agudelo Marin.
With this victory, Miami Dade takes the season series over Eastern Florida. The Sharks will look to continue their perfect year as they take on Polk State College next week.
