The Sharks defeat Casper in straight set
Miami Dade College continued their undefeated season, improving to 7-0, with a commanding 3-0 victory over Casper College. The Sharks swept the match, taking the sets 25-8, 25-11, and 25-19 to kick off their weekend in Idaho.
In the first set, Miami Dade made a strong statement, hitting at a .353 clip with 16 kills. The second set saw Miami Dade continue their offensive efficiency, hitting .409 with 12 kills, and the Sharks closed out the match in the third set with another solid performance, hitting .333.
Mia Martinez, the week 1 FCSAA Defensive Player of the Week, played a key role with 18 digs and 4 service aces, contributing 6 points to the win. Katielle Altagracia Alonzo Vargas led the Sharks' attack with 11 kills and a blistering .562 hitting percentage. Angelica Rodriguez and Paulina Agudelo Marín also made significant contributions with 6 and 5 kills, respectively.
Setter Maria Clara Antunes was pivotal in orchestrating the offense, dishing out 22 assists. Luiza Da Cruz added 11 assists, keeping the offense balanced.
On defense, the Sharks were solid, with 47 digs as a team, keeping Casper from gaining any offensive momentum. Esthefany Rabit was instrumental at the net, recording 3 block assists and contributing 5.5 points overall.
