Sharks rally to defeat Blinn in 4 sets
The Sharks maintained their unbeaten streak, securing a four-set victory over Blinn College to advance to a 5-0 record.
The opening set saw Miami Dade struggle offensively, managing only a .036 hitting percentage with 8 kills and 7 errors. Blinn College capitalized on the Sharks' shaky start, taking the set 25-13.
However, the Sharks turned it around in the second set. Despite their ongoing offensive struggles, they fought back to win a nail-biting 29-27 set, fueled by 17 kills.
With momentum on their side, the Sharks dominated the third set, improving their efficiency with a .267 hitting percentage and limiting Blinn to just 14 points. The fourth set was the Sharks' best, where they hit a blistering .469 with 18 kills, sealing the victory with a 25-17 win.
Angelica Rodriguez led the charge for Miami Dade with an outstanding performance, recording 17 kills and a .519 hitting percentage. Katielle Altagracia Alonzo Vargas also made significant contributions, adding 13 kills and 3 block assists.
Mia Martinez continued to shine defensively, leading the team with 21 digs and adding 4 service aces. Maria Clara Antunes orchestrated the offense with 28 assists, while Luiza Da Cruz chipped in 19 assists and 14 digs.
The Sharks finished the Kruse Kickoff Classic with a record of 4-0 and will return home where they'll face Hillsborough Community College. The match is slated for September 4th at 6:00 PM.
