MDC VOLLEYBALL PLAYER KATIELLE ALONZO EARNS DI FCSAA VOLLEYBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Miami Dade College proudly announces that Katielle Alonzo has been named the DI FCSAA Volleyball Player of the Week for the second week. Alonzo's outstanding performance on the court has earned her this prestigious recognition.

Throughout the week, Alonzo showcased her exceptional talents, averaging an impressive 5.2 kills over six sets. Her powerful spikes and precise attacking skills made her a formidable force on the volleyball court. Additionally, she exhibited great precision in her serves, averaging 0.7 service aces, providing crucial points for her team.

Alonzo's contributions extended beyond her offensive capabilities. She displayed remarkable defensive skills, averaging 1.5 digs per set. Furthermore, her solid blocking skills became instrumental in frustrating the opponents, with an average of 0.5 blocks per set.

Alonzo's standout performance against the highly-ranked No. 1 Florida SouthWestern team reflected her determination and skill. Despite a three-set loss, she contributed a remarkable 15 kills and four digs, leaving a lasting impression on spectators and opponents alike. In another impressive victory, she recorded 16 kills and five digs in a commanding 3-0 win against Indian River State.
