MIAMI DADE COLLEGE VOLLEYBALL TEAM SECURES VICTORY AGAINST INDIAN RIVER STATE COLLEGE

The Miami Dade College (MDC) Sharks showcased their skills and emerged victorious in their first home game of the season against the Indian River State College Pioneers. The Sharks exhibited an impressive performance, winning in three sets with scores of 26-24, 25-19, and 25-20. The MDC Sharks' overall record was 38 kills, 42 digs, 11 blocks, and 11 aces.

Beatrice Carulli. Carulli demonstrated her attacking skills with nine impressive kills while recording eight digs, one ace, and 1.5 blocks during the game. Her consistent performance played a crucial role in the team's victory.

Luiza Da Cruz, the team's setter, showcased her exceptional skills on the court. Da Cruz notched an impressive 38 assists and contributed with one kill, two digs, five aces, and 1.5 blocks. Her strategic decision-making and accurate passing were vital in elevating the team's performance.

Reflecting on the game, Da Cruz commented, "We were a little nervous about our first home game, but we played well. There are areas we can still improve upon. Overall, it was a great match." Her humble yet determined attitude resonated with her teammates and demonstrated the team's commitment to continual growth and improvement.

Mia Martinez proved to be an invaluable asset as the team's libero. Throughout the intense match, Martinez showcased her defensive prowess, accumulating an impressive 16 digs and showcasing her outstanding reflexes and anticipation. Additionally, she contributed three aces.

MDC Sharks will play their next home game on September 13 at 6:00 p.m. at the Kendall Campus.
