MDC Sharks Conclude Jefferson College Classic with Win and Full Sweep

The Miami Dade College(MDC) volleyball team achieved a remarkable victory in their fourth game of the Jefferson College Classic. The MDC Sharks outshined Jefferson Community College in a dominant performance, winning all three sets (25-23, 25-19, 25-12). With a total of 48 kills, four aces, 54 digs, and five blocks, the Lady Sharks secured their position as the tournament champions, sweeping all four games.

Ana Tevdoradze led the MDC Sharks with exceptional skill, contributing 19 kills with a remarkable hitting percentage of .417. Additionally, she recorded 11 digs and one block throughout the game.

Alicia Salgado delivered an equally impressive performance, achieving eight kills with a hitting percentage of .300 and four digs. Reflecting on the tough match, Salgado stated, "This last game was a hard match, but we were confident with our skills, and we were able to take the win."

Esthefany Rabit showcased her talent with nine kills and an impressive hitting percentage of .430, accompanied by 1.5 blocks.

Mia Martinez made her mark on the game with 20 digs and two aces.

Head Coach Benoit expressed great satisfaction with the team's performance, stating, "It was a great tournament, an excellent way to start the season with four wins - 0 losses. Now, we have to continue working to continue getting better."

Notably, Ana Tevdoradze emerged as the Most Valuable Player of the tournament for the MDC Sharks, securing an impressive total of 63 kills with a hitting percentage of .419. Additionally, she recorded six aces, 28 digs, and two blocks.

The Jefferson College Classic was an outstanding season opener for the MDC Sharks. As the team looks ahead to their next game, scheduled for August 30 at 6:00 p.m., against Santa Fe College, the Sharks are determined to carry forward their winning momentum and continue their success throughout the season.
