Jaime & Velazquez Will Remain Teammates at Columbia College

Miami, FL-Pamela Jaime and Yamilet Velazquez both signed their national letter of intent to play for Columbia College. Jaime and Velazquez will head to Columbia, Missouri to play under the Cougars' Head Coach Melinda Wrye-Washington. 

As an outside hitter for MDC Head Coach Kiko Benoit, Jaime finished the season with 66 kills, 23 digs, and 82.5 points. When describing Jaime's power on the court the Lady Sharks Head Coach Kiko Benoit stated: "Pamela is a very sweet person but, at the same time she's an aggressive and powerful player on the court. She is what we called a complete package: smart, nice, and a great team player."

Velazquez, a right-side setter finished the season with 208 assists, 92 digs, and 51 kills. "Yamilet is a great player to have on a team. She plays all four positions: OH, MB, RS and SET," said Benoit when speaking on her versatility. "She is the definition of an all-around player."

Both players played an important role in helping the Lady Sharks win the FCSAA Volleyball State Championship and the NJCAA Volleyball National Championship.
