Sharks win 3-0 against the Bobcats
The Miami Dade College Sharks defeated the St. Thomas University JV Bobcats, securing a 3-0 victory on Friday evening. The Sharks came out strong in the first half, scoring all three goals, while shutting out the Bobcats for the entire match.
Tessa Abreu opened the scoring in the 21st minute with a penalty kick. Just over ten minutes later, Kyara Ormazabal doubled the lead with an unassisted goal in the 32nd minute. Luciana Mejia capped off the scoring in the 36th minute, making it 3-0 for Miami Dade.
The Bobcats struggled to mount any offensive pressure with Miami Dade, on the other hand, dominating possession with 15 shots and 11 corner kicks. Goalkeeper Scarlett Veloza Albarracin was unchallenged in goal, as the Sharks maintained complete control of the game.
The win brings Miami Dade's record to 6-2 for the season, continuing their impressive form.
The Sharks turn their heads to #10 ranked Eastern Florida whom they'll face on Friday, September 27th. The game is scheduled to start at 5:00 PM.
