The Sharks surge past Angelina College in High-Scoring Thriller

The Miami Dade Sharks secured a thrilling 5-3 victory over Angelina College in the first match in program history.

The game got off to a lightning-fast start, with Miami Dade taking the lead just 23 seconds into the first period. Julia Gurgel capitalized on an early opportunity to put the Sharks ahead 1-0. Vengoechea's squad doubled their lead shortly after, as Tessa Abreu found the back of the net unassisted at the 1:30 mark.

Angelina College quickly responded with two goals from Brenda Izaguirre, both assisted by Paula Suarez. Izaguirre's strikes at the 4:00 and 36:00 marks brought the score level at 2-2 going into halftime.

In the second period, Miami Dade regained the lead in the 57th minute, making it 3-2. However, Angelina College's Camila Rico, tied the game once more at 3-3 with a goal in the 67th minute.

The deadlock was broken in the 78th minute when Miami Dade's Camila Martins Viera scored unassisted, putting her team back in the lead. The Sharks secured the win with an 83rd-minute insurance goal by Kyra Tuesta, on a free kick, to finalize the score at 5-3.

The Sharks will have a day off on Friday before taking on Tyler Junior College at noon on Saturday.
