Former Miami Dade guard Clara Solar returns to Miami Dade College this season as an Assistant for the Women’s Basketball program.

Solar was a member of the 2023-2024 women’s basketball team. Solar highlighted the season by hitting an tremendous 3 point shot to open the conference season and later assisting in the win. A graduate of Palmetto HS, she shot 25% from the arc and was 20% from the field in 15 games for the Sharks.

Solar will provide assistance to the head coach in areas like on court drills, practice game set-up, monitoring academic study hall, administrative office and/or program tasks, scouting, and other duties as designated.

Solar holds an Associate in Arts Degree from Miami Dade College and an Associate in Science Degree. She is currently working on her Bachelors Degree and looks to move into the Sports Management Industry as a coach.
