Miami Dade Dominates Palm Beach State in 87-60 Victory
The Miami Dade Sharks put on a commanding performance in their 87-60 victory over Palm Beach State College on Tuesday night. The Sharks took control early, outscoring the Panthers 23-10 in the first quarter and never looking back.
Miami Dade showcased a balanced offensive attack, with five players scoring in double figures. Kiara Harris led the charge with 19 points, including four three-pointers, while Cleaira Peterson posted a dominant double-double with 18 points and 15 rebounds. Shameir Quimby was a force in the paint, contributing 14 points, 12 rebounds, and a game-high 9 assists. Jamesha Card provided a spark off the bench with 16 points, and Michaela Lane added 11 points, seven rebounds, and five blocks.
The Sharks' defense smothered Palm Beach State, forcing 28 turnovers and holding the Panthers to just 36.8% shooting. Miami Dade also won the battle on the boards, outrebounding Palm Beach. The defensive pressure was led by Quimby, who recorded five steals, and Peterson, who had two blocks.
With the win, Coach Summons' squad moves to 15-8 on the year. They'll take this weekend off before facing off against Daytona State College on Wednesday, February 12th.
