Miami Dade Dominates Montgomery College with Explosive Offensive Performance
In an extraordinary display of offensive , the Miami Dade Sharks took down Montgomery College with a commanding 132-68 victory.
From the opening tip, Miami Dade established its dominance, shooting a scorching 67.9% from the field and 46.2% from beyond the arc. The team's ability to control the pace, distribute the ball effectively, and capitalize on scoring opportunities set the tone for a record-breaking performance.
Leading the charge was Jazmyne Bynum, who delivered a stellar all-around performance with 33 points, including six three-pointers, and an impressive 11 assists. Bynum's playmaking and scoring ignited the Sharks' offense and kept Montgomery's defense on its heels throughout the game.
Not far behind, Shameir Quimby contributed an efficient 27 points on 12-for-13 shooting, along with eight rebounds and seven assists. Quimby's presence in the paint and ability to find open teammates underscored Miami Dade's dominance in both individual skill and team coordination.
Kiara Harris also turned heads with her versatile performance, tallying 22 points, six rebounds, and eight assists. Harris's leadership on both ends of the court was crucial, particularly as she helped orchestrate fast breaks and transition opportunities.
Defensively, Miami Dade shone by forcing 38 turnovers, with 26 steals that disrupted Montgomery's rhythm. Bynum and Harris were particularly active, combining for 15 steals. The Sharks also dominated the boards, grabbing 56 rebounds compared to Montgomery's 24, led by Cleaira Peterson and Michaela Lane, who combined for 28 rebounds.
Peterson's 13 points and 15 rebounds highlighted her workhorse mentality in the paint, while Lane added nine points and 13 rebounds off the bench. The bench players, including Abigail Alvarez and KaMariya Simmons, contributed significantly, ensuring no drop in intensity when the starters rested.
Montgomery College, despite its struggles, had a few bright spots. Litzy Lujan-Gonzales led her team with 17 points and four assists, while Tiana Carey added 16 points. However, their efforts were not enough to counteract Miami Dade's relentless attack and suffocating defense.
