Sharks bounce back to beat Tallahassee
The Miami Dade Sharks bounced back in their second game of the year, defeating Tallahassee State College 82-67. The Sharks controlled the game from start to finish, showing off a well-rounded team effort across all four quarters.
Shameir Quimby led the charge with an outstanding 30 points, hitting 12 of her 13 shots and going 6-7 from the free-throw line. Cleaira Peterson contributed significantly as well, tallying 14 points and adding 5 rebounds. KaMariya Simmons was a force on the boards, securing 9 rebounds while also adding 6 points. Jazmin Williams showcased her defensive skills with 5 steals, further adding to Miami Dade's relentless pressure.
Jamesha Card made her presence felt with a near double-double, scoring 11 points and grabbing a game-high 19 rebounds. Miami Dade shot an impressive 62.5% from the field and converted on 50% of their three-point attempts, demonstrating efficient offense and strong shot selection.
The Sharks also played disciplined basketball, committing just 9 turnovers while racking up 12 steals. With the win, the Sharks move to 1-1 on the year and turn their heads to NJCAA National Runner-Up Northwest Florida State College, who they face in a few weeks.
