Miami Dade loses by 1 against Indian River State College

The Miami Dade Sharks women's basketball team dropped a close matchup against Indian River State College 74-75. Miami Dade drops to 4-19 while Indian River moves to 14-10.

 

The Sharks were led in this game by point guard Shameir Quimby, who had another stellar game. She would score 25 points in tonight's matchup going 10-20 from the field, bringing down 5 boards and dishing out 7 assists. Iva Chokaloska would score 23 points, going 5-9 from deep.

 

Before the Indian River State College rallied, the Sharks had taken an early lead and kept up the pressure for the first three quarters. Prior to their defensive efforts allowing them to tie the game, the Pioneers were trailing by 15 points in the fourth quarter. The Pioneers ultimately trailed by a single point. With thirty seconds remaining, sophomore D'yanna Maxey made the game-winning layup. 

 

The Sharks will travel this Tuesday to Daytona State College. The game is slated for 5 PM.
