The Miami Dade Sharks women's basketball team got the win on the road against the Santa Fe Saints 87-71. The Sharks move to 4-16 while the Saints drop to 10-10.
The Sharks were powered in this one by Quimby who scored 28 points and brought down 9 boards to go along with 5 steals. She scored 3 of the first 4 field goals for the Sharks and scored 10 of the 21 points for Miami Dade in the first quarter.
The Saints would put up a fight in the 2nd quarter with Robinson and Chaney leading them with 5 and 6 points respectively. Santa Fe was able to cut the first quarter deficit down to 1 heading into the half.
Miami Dade would have a fantastic second half scoring 23 in the third thanks to a group effort. Quimby led the Sharks with 6 in this quarter and was followed by Renae Brant and Iva Cholakoska who scored 5 and 4. The Sharks would then go on to score 26 in the 4th to take the air out of the Santa Fe crowd.
The Sharks will look to stay in the win column next Saturday when they take on Hillsborough Community College. The game is slated for Saturday, February 3 at 2:00 PM
