Sharks Rally to Defeat Trojans, 8-6
The Miami Dade Sharks overcame an early six-run deficit to defeat Central Alabama Community College 8-6. The victory marked their second straight win to start the season.
After a rough second inning where Central Alabama plated six runs, the Sharks responded in the third inning with a three-run rally. Carmela Smith and Gabriela Luz each drove in runs before Angelica Castro added an RBI single to cut the deficit in half.
Coach DeAguero's continued chipping away, with Vanessa Rial delivering an RBI single in the fourth to bring the score to 6-4. The Sharks then erupted for three more runs in the sixth, capitalizing on a clutch RBI single by Maria Julia Pedroso and an error that allowed two additional runs to score.
Cintia Escalante sealed the comeback in the seventh with a towering solo home run to right field, securing the 8-6 victory.
Amanda Handa was dominant in relief, tossing 5.2 shutout innings, allowing just two hits while striking out six to earn the win. Caroline Mito led the offense, going 3-for-3 with two runs scored, while Luz and Rial each contributed two hits.
