Sharks shut out against Santa Fe

The Miami Dade Sharks softball team fell at the hands of the Santa Fe Saints, 5-0 in Game 1 of their doubleheader. The Sharks are now 19-29 on the year with the loss. 

Santa Fe College opened the scoring in the fourth after Madi Conway hit a solo home run to center field.

The Sharks offense could only muster two hits in this one Ty Marie Cervantes and Gessenia Hernandez each collected one hit. 

Mallory Forrester earned the win for Santa Fe College. She allowed two hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out nine and walking none. Carina Amarilla took the loss for Miami Dade College. The right-handed pitcher went five and one-third innings, giving up five runs on six hits, striking out two and walking three.

The Sharks will look to get back in the win column when they take on the Saints in Game 2 at 4 PM.
