Sharks walked off in Melbourne

The Miami Dade Sharks softball team lost in walkoff fashion to the Eastern Florida State College Titans 3-2 on Tuesday. Miami Dade moves to 17-25 on the year with the loss.

The Titans were the first to strike in this one after Faith Campos drove in a run, making the score 1-0. They then added another run in the third inning after a double by McKenzie Jewell.

The Sharks were able to tie the game late after a clutch triple from Jimena Kunigami but Marisa Shoudt was able to walk it off for the Titans with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh.

The pitching was strong on both sides today as Hannah Strickland went seven innings for Titans only allowing four hits and two runs and Carina Amarilla went 6.2 innings giving up three runs and three hits while striking out three.

Miami Dade will look to get back in the win column when they take on the Titans in the second leg of the doubleheader at 5 PM.
