Sharks get back in the win column against the Falcons

The Miami Dade Sharks softball team is back to their winning ways after snatching the lead late against Daytona State to defeat them 6-4. Miami Dade is now 15-24 on the year.

The Sharks got on the board in the fourth inning after a double by Alexis Ortega and a triple by Atavya Fowler made the score 2-0.

Daytona then jumped into the lead in the top of the fifth inning when an error by the Sharks allowed two runs to score and singles by Kaili Cannon and Cristina Penney put the Falcons ahead.

Miami Dade then tied the game in the bottom of the fifth thanks to hits by Arianna Thomason and Ty Marie Cervantes. Alexis Ortega then stepped up to the plate and gave the Sharks the lead after knocking in two runs with a single of her own.

Aimi Tohara was able to hold the lead from here on out as she went seven innings, allowing eight hits and four runs(zero earned). 

The Sharks will take on the Raiders from Seminole State College on Saturday. The games are scheduled at 2 PM and 6 PM.
