Sharks fall 12-2 on the road

The Miami Dade Sharks softball team lost the backend of a doubleheader againist the Indian River State College Pioneers 12-2, Tuesday afternoon. The Sharks are now 14-23 with the loss.

The Pioneers struck first in this game, scoring two runs in the first inning thanks to Maddox Thomas. Indian River then broke the game wide open in the second inning, scoring seven runs on eight hits in the bottom of the second inning. 

Alexis Ortega was one of the few bright spots for the Sharks in this ballgame, going 1 for 2 with two runs batted in. Atavya Fowler, Ty Marie Cervantes and Dana Ximena Piri Gallegos also collected base hits for the Sharks today.

Miami Dade will look to get back in the win column when they take on Daytona State College on Thursday. The games are scheduled for 2 PM and 4 PM.
