Sharks lose in walkoff fashion

The Miami Dade Sharks softball team lost to Indian River State College 4-3 in game 1 of their doubleheader on Tuesday. The Sharks are now 14-22 on the year.

The Pioneers opened the scoring up in the third inning after Cambrie Todd drove a run in with a single. Todd then once again added to the lead with a homerun to center field.

In the seventh inning, the Sharks tied the ballgame up after Alexis Ortega hit a homerun the opposite way and Kiana Kadena doubled, each driving in runs.

Presley Smith would walk things off in the bottom of the ninth after she singled to drive in the winning run.

The Sharks will look to take Game 2 at 6 PM.
