Sharks shutout St. Pete in 2-0 victory

The Miami Dade Sharks softball team collected their fourth win and second straight series sweep agains the St. Petersburg College Titans on Friday afternoon. The Sharks defeated St. Pete 2-0 in the effort.

Miami Dade's, Dana Ximena Piri Gallegos, continued her incredible day by getting the Sharks on the board in the bottom of the fourth with a solo shot to center field. This would be her fourth homerun of the year.

Gessenia Hernandez would drive in the other run for Miami Dade in this one after she had a sacrifice fly to right field allowing Atavya Fowler to score.

Aimi Tohara stepped in the circle for Miami Dade and was able to shutout the Titans going seven innings, striking out three hitters and walking one.

Miami Dade will look to keep the win streak alive when they take on Indian River State College on the road next Tuesday. The games are scheduled for 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM.
