Piri walks it off to give Sharks the 3-2 victory

The Miami Dade Sharks softball team defeated the St. Petersburg College Titans 3-2 on Friday afternoon. The Sharks move to 13-21 on the year with the victory.

Miami Dade got on the board first after a groundout by Jimena Kunigami brought in a run, making things 1-0 in favor of the Sharks.

The Titans took the lead back after a two run homerun to left field by Ayla Horne. The Sharks were able to tie things up after the Titans committed an error.

The pitching was strong on both sides with Carina Amarilla giving the Sharks a quality start on the mound. She tossed eight innings, giving up three hits and two runs while striking out eight in the winning effort.

Dana Ximena Piri Gallegos walked things off in Game 1 after she scorched a double off of the center field wall allowing Arianna Thomason to score.

Miami Dade will look to win their fourth straight when they face the Titans in Game 2 shortly.
