Sharks shutout by the Patriots on Sunday

The Miami Dade Sharks softball team were shutout by the Patriots from College of Central Florida on Sunday. The Sharks are now sport a 10-19 record on the year.

The Patriots got on the board after an error by the Sharks allowed them to go up 1-0 in the top of the first. 

College of Central Florida then added to their early lead after Leah Clark homered to center field and Bailey Holmes drove in another with a sac fly.

The Sharks were not able to muster up any runs at the plate with Haley Guffey toosing a complete game and striking out seven.

Aimi Tohara took the loss for the Sharks in this one. She would go seven innings, striking out two and walking two while surrendering three runs. 

Miami Dade will head up to Fort Myers on Tuesday afternoon to take on the Florida Southwestern Buccaneers in a doubleheader. The games are scheduled for 2 PM and 4 PM.
