Sharks get walked off at Daytona

The Miami Dade Sharks softball team were defeated by the Daytona State Falcons in walkoff fashion Thursday night. The Sharks are now 8-15 with the loss.

Tretter continued her outstanding week by kicking off the scoring with an RBI single in the top of the first. Jimena Kunigami extended the lead in the top of the fifth.

Daytona would answer back in the bottom of the sixth after Kiera Mainolfi singled through the left side driving in 1.

In the top of the seventh, Kunigami would give the Sharks another run to give them some padding before trying to secure the last 3 outs of the ballgame but the Falcons would have different plans.

Mainolfi again would punish the Sharks, this time knocking in 2 runs and putting runners on 1st and 3rd with one out. Morgan Davis would step up to the play and walk off the Sharks 4-3.

The Sharks will look to get back in the win column when they take on Seminole State College of Florida on Saturday. The games are slated for 12 PM and 2 PM.
