Sharks fall to Daytona State in Game 1 of doubleheader

The Miami Dade Sharks softball fell to the Daytona State Falcons 12-2 in the first game of their scheduled doubleheader. The Sharks fall to 8-14 on the year with the loss.

Aimi Tohara got the start in the circle for Miami Dade in today's matchup going 3 and a third innings allowing 8 hits and 9 earned runs. She would also walk 4 in the outing. Lais Ihy would come in relief and allow 3 earned runs of her own.

The Falcons would strike first in this ballgame thanks to a single to center field by Morgan Davis. Cristina Penney would extend the lead to 2-0 with a sac fly later in the inning.

Miami Dade would answer back with 2 of their own in the top of the second thanks to an RBI groundout by Maya Wall and a single up the middle by Gabriela Nunes Trinoski.

The rest of the game would go the Falcons way as they would muster up 10 runs in the next 2 innings. 

The Sharks take on the Falcons again shortly for Game 2 of their doubleheader.
