Miami Dade falls to The River 5-2

The Miami Dade Sharks softball team fell to Indian River State College in the second game of their doubleheader Tuesday afternoon. The Sharks are now 8-13 with the loss. 

Presley Smith got the party started for the Pioneers, as she drove in a run in the first to make it 1-0 in favor of Indian River. They would add another run in the 3rd inning after the Sharks committed an error.

Kunigami would drive in Fowler on two separate occasions to tie the game back up at 2 and move the momentum in favor of the Sharks.

In the top of the 6th inning, Indian River's Ciara Gendron doubled off of the center field wall to break the tie and ultimately be the death blow for Miami Dade.

Carina Amarilla took the loss for the Sharks today as she would toss seven innings, allowing five runs on six hits. The Argentinian would strike out five batters and walk two.

The Sharks will look to bounce back when they take on Daytona State College in a doubleheader Thursday afternoon. The games are scheduled for 4 and 6 PM.
