Miami Dade loses game 2 of doubleheader against FSW

The Miami Dade Sharks softball team lost game 2 of their doubleheader against the Buccaneers on Saturday. Miami Dade is now 7-12 on the year.

The Bucs struck first in this matchup after a sacrifice fly by Skylar Brennan scored Katey McGee. In the fifth inning an RBI single by Emily Allegood would make the score 2-0 in favor of the Bucs. Then, an error by the Sharks would allow Florida Southwestern to take a 3-0 lead in the fifth.

Jaiden Tretter would answer back in the bottom of the fifth by driving in Dana Ximena Piri Gallegos to make it 3-1 Bucs.

Florida Southwestern would go on to score a run in the sixth and two in the seventh inning to make it 6-1.

In the bottom of the seventh, Tretter would once again drive in Piri Gallegos but it would be too little too late for Miami Dade.

Argentinian Carina Amarilla got the start for the Sharks, tossing 7 innings, allowing 12 hits and 4 earned runs. She would strike out 3 and walk one in the outing.

Miami Dade will look to bounce back against Indian River in a doubleheader Tuesday afternoon. The games are scheduled for 2 PM and 4 PM.
