Miami Dade shutout by the Buccaneers

The Miami Dade Sharks softball team was topped by the Florida Southwestern State College Buccaneers 8-0 in the first game of their doubleheader Saturday afternoon. The Sharks fall to 7-11 on the year and are now an even 5-5 in conference play.

The Bucs opened the scoring in the top of the second thanks to back to back RBI walks by Mia Terito and Sydney McCray.

They then tacked on five additional runs in the sixth inning to pad the lead and keep the Sharks at bay.

Aimi Tohara got the nod for the Sharks in this one tossing all five innings, allowing 11 hits and 8 runs. She would strike out two batters while walking three.

The Sharks will look to bounce back in game 2 of their doubleheader this afternoon.
