The Miami Dade Sharks softball team took down the Hawks from Hillsborough Community College 6-5 on Saturday afternoon. The Sharks move to 5-8 on the year.
The Sharks opened the scoring in this one thanks to a sacrifice fly by Kiana Kadena in the bottom of the second.
The Hawks bounced back to take the lead at 4-1 in the top of the third inning.
Dana Ximena Piri Gallegos hit a solo homerun to bring the Sharks a bit closer with 2 innings remaining.
The Sharks went on to win the ball game after a passed ball to walk off the ballgame.
Aimi Tohara earned the win for Miami Dade, throwing seven innings striking out 7 hitters and allowing 5 runs (1 earned).
The Sharks will look to start a win streak as they take on the Hawks in the second leg of a doubleheader.
