Miami Dade loses 7-3 to Wallace State

The Miami Dade Sharks fell at the hands of Wallace State 7-3 on Saturday at CenturyLink Sports Complex. The Sharks finish out their tournament in Fort Myers with a record of 1-3.

Miami Dade got on the board in the top of the first inning after Dana Ximena Piri Gallegos doubled, and Gessenia Hernandez singled, each scoring one run.

Wallace State took the lead in the bottom of the first thanks to a double by Tessa Word, scoring three runs, to give the Tigers the leg up, 3-2.

Wallace added two runs in the second after Bayleigh Rouse doubled.

Aimi Tohara took the loss for the Sharks. The righty went four innings, giving up seven runs on nine hits, striking out one and walking two. 

The Sharks will take the week off and host their first home game of the year on the 27th of February. They will take on conference opponent Polk State College in a doubleheader. The games are slated for 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM.
