Lady Sharks Take Two Victories Over Palm Beach

The Lady Sharks Softball team defeated the Panthers of Palm Beach State College 2 games to 0. In the first game, the Lady Sharks won 6-1 and got on the board in the second inning. Jasmine Bernardini doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs. Emma Maitland earned the victory on the pitcher's mound for Lady Sharks. She went seven innings, allowing one run on four hits and striking out five. Stacy Pericles took the loss for Palm Beach State College. She went six innings, allowing six runs on 12 hits and striking out two. MDC tallied 12 hits.  Kaitlyn Perez, Melissa Mayeux, Eliza Artiles, and Jasmine Bernardini all managed multiple hits.

In the sencond game, the Lady Sharks jumped out to an early lead and took home an 11-2 victory. MDC scored on a groundout by Samantha Oliva, an error, and a groundout by Oskarely Ochoa in the first inning. The Lady Sharks scored four runs in the sixth inning. MDC's big inning was driven by a single by Melissa Mayeux, a groundout by Kaitlyn Perez, and a double by Jasmine Bernardini. Chiara Biasis pitched in the victory. She surrendered two runs on six hits over six innings, striking out one. Katelyn Allan took the loss for Palm Beach State College. She lasted five and two-thirds innings, allowing 14 hits and 11 runs while striking out one and walking one. The Lady Sharks racked up 14 hits. Mayeux, Bernardini,Erika Yatabe,and Eliza Artiles all managed multiple hits for the Lady Sharks.

Currently the Lady Sharks are 13-27,5-8 in conference. The Lady Sharks face Eastern Florida State College Saturday April 7th, at 1pm & 3pm.
