The Miami Dade College Sharks extended their unbeaten streak with a 3-1 victory over Southern Union State Community College Bisons. The win improves Miami Dade's record to 6-0-2, while Southern Union falls to 4-3-3.
The Sharks struck first late in the first half when midfielder Diego Luengo scored a goal in the 40th minute, putting Miami Dade ahead 1-0.
However, Southern Union equalized just after halftime, capitalizing on a defensive mishap by Miami Dade.
Despite the setback, Miami Dade regrouped and regained control. The Sharks continued their offensive pressure and were rewarded in the 82nd minute when Luengo delivered a pinpoint assist to Facundo Ochoa, who calmly finished to restore Miami Dade's lead at 2-1.
Five minutes later, Edoardo Duchini added an insurance goal with an unassisted strike in the 87th minute, sealing the 3-1 victory for the Sharks.
Defensively, Miami Dade was dominant with goalkeeper Angel Fernandez having a quiet afternoon, making just two saves as the Sharks controlled the pace.
The Sharks now turn their heads to Sunday where they'll take on Enterprise State Community College.
