Sharks net 6 against STU
The Sharks delivered a clinical performance, defeating St. Thomas University 6-0 in a lopsided matchup. The Sharks overwhelmed St. Thomas from start to finish, scoring six unanswered goals.
The game started with Miami Dade controlling possession and probing the St. Thomas defense. The breakthrough came late in the first half when defender Jeremy Levivier found the back of the net in the 42nd minute with a well-placed shot, giving Miami Dade a 1-0 lead going into halftime.
Miami Dade wasted no time doubling their advantage after the break. Just seconds into the second half, Facundo Ochoa pounced on a loose ball and calmly slotted it home to make it 2-0. The Sharks continued to press, and in the 53rd minute, Levivier struck again, notching his second goal of the match with another unassisted effort, putting the game out of reach at 3-0.
The floodgates opened as Miami Dade's attack proved relentless. Cheick Dounkasse joined the scoring spree in the 64th minute with a powerful strike, followed by Alejandro Cumplido's goal in the 78th minute to push the scoreline to 5-0. Dounkasse capped off the scoring in the 84th minute, adding his second goal of the match and sealing a comprehensive 6-0 victory.
On the defensive end, Miami Dade was impenetrable. Goalkeeper Will Blease had a quiet evening, making just one save as St. Thomas struggled to create any meaningful chances. The lone shot on goal from St. Thomas came from Gabriel Villasana, but it was comfortably dealt with by Blease.
St. Thomas was unable to mount any offensive threat, managing only one shot in the entire match. Their goalkeeper, Fernando Coronel, was kept busy throughout, making six saves but unable to prevent the barrage of goals from Miami Dade.
Miami Dade's disciplined play was marred only by a series of yellow cards, with three players cautioned, including Levivier, Agustin Sinelli, and Joao Pedro Dos Santos Oliveira. Despite this, the Sharks' dominant performance ensured they remained in control from start to finish.
The Sharks will look to continue their winning streak as they take on conference opponent and #13 ranked in the nation Daytona State College.
