In the finale of the Blinn College Tri-Region Clásico, The Miami Dade Sharks and Blinn College ended in a 3-3 draw after 90 minutes of play.
Miami Dade started strong, taking the lead early in the first half. Edoardo Duchini converted a penalty kick in the 9th minute, putting the Sharks ahead 1-0. Just a minute later, Facundo Ochoa doubled the lead, giving Miami Dade a comfortable 2-0 cushion.
Blinn College, however, refused to back down. In the 44th minute, Mathew Williams capitalized on a penalty kick, cutting the deficit to just 1 before halftime.
The Buccaneers carried their momentum into the second half. In the 53rd minute, Joe Afful, assisted by Geoff Ojango and Nawfal Hadj-Hamou, netted the equalizer, bringing the score to 2-2. Miami Dade responded in the 66th minute when Duchini found the back of the net again, this time assisted by Ochoa, reclaiming the lead for the Sharks at 3-2.
As the clock ticked down, Blinn College found a way to level the score once more. In the 88th minute, Ethan Lindo, with the help of Devon Arnold and Joe Coyle, scored the crucial equalizer, ensuring the match ended in a 3-3 draw.
The Sharks next contest will be on Friday, September 6th where they will face off against St. Thomas University's JV squad. The game is slated to start at 7:00 PM.
