Bio
Eric Rodriguez joins the Miami Dade Sharks ahead of the 2025–2026 season, bringing with him over a decade of coaching experience across the professional, collegiate, and high school levels. Known for his player development expertise and deep basketball knowledge, Rodriguez has built a respected career both in the U.S. and internationally.
Most recently, Rodriguez served as Associate Head Coach for the Piratas de Quebradillas in Puerto Rico’s BSN League, working under NBA champion John Salley and coaching high-profile professionals such as Emmanuel Mudiay and Gian Clavell. Prior to that, he was an assistant coach in Belgium’s top-tier BNXT League with RSW Liège Basketball, where he managed scouting, film breakdowns, and player development.
Rodriguez has also coached at Florida National University, Kansas State University, and Broward College, with postseason success at every stop. At the high school level, he was named the 2021 Miami-Dade Coach of the Year and led Mater Academy to the state finals.
A former college basketball player himself, Rodriguez holds degrees from NYIT and Kansas State University. He is the founder of Shakey’s Hoop Dreams, a nonprofit inspired by his late father and legendary coach Marcos “Shakey” Rodriguez.
