Miami Dade loses to #18 ranked Eastern Florida State College

The Miami Dade Sharks men's basketball team fell at the hands of #18 ranked Eastern Florida State College 80-56, Tuesday night. The Sharks drop to 11-8 while Eastern Florida moves to 17-3.

Spaniard Owen Aquino led the Titans out of the gate as he scored 10 of the team's first 13 points. The Titans would be up 13-5 before Hannah and Boutayeb answered back to cut the deficit to 4. Miami Dade would roar back into the game eventually tying it up at 33 with just under 3 minutes to go in the first half. Lluberes would put the Sharks out front by three, but Aquino would get out on the break to cut the lead to 1 heading into the second half.

Miami Dade would get out on a 5-0 run thanks to baskets by Latimer and Lluberes but the rest of the second half would go the Titans way.  A fantastic half from the field by the Titans in which they shot 66% from the field and 64% from deep was exactly what they needed to take down the Sharks.

The Sharks were led by Latimer who finished with 18 points followed by Caleb Hannah who scored 13 on 5-12 shooting.

Miami Dade will look to bounce back when they take on Florida Southwestern in Fort Myers this Saturday. The game is slated for 12:00 PM on January 27.
