Miami Dade Falls to FSW in Late-Inning Swing, 7–3
The Miami Dade Sharks couldn't hold on to an early lead as Florida Southwestern State College stormed back with a five-run push across the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings to hand the Sharks a 7–3 loss on Friday.
MDC struck first, scoring in the third when William Polanco crossed home on a wild pitch. They extended the lead to 3–0 in the fourth inning thanks to a two-run double by Jovan Swasey that brought home Santiago Carriles-Alvarado and Willy Mendez.
Florida Southwestern responded in the fifth, sparked by a two-run homer from Nathan Fink and an RBI single by Alex Kuenzle to tie it up 3–3. The Buccaneers continued their momentum in the sixth, with Fink again delivering an RBI single, followed by a Luke Orfi base hit to take the lead 5–3.
MDC struggled to get anything going offensively in the later innings, managing only six hits total—two of which came from Polanco. Starting pitcher Enrique Sierra threw 4.2 innings, allowing three runs before the bullpen allowed four more across the next two frames. Luke Helms was charged with the loss.
