Miami Dade Explodes Late to Power Past United International, 15-7
After falling behind early, Miami Dade erupted for 10 unanswered runs in the final two innings to blow past United International College, 15-7, in a high-scoring midweek matchup.
The Sharks started strong with a two-run homer by Michael Petite in the bottom of the first, but United International roared back with a five-run second inning, highlighted by a three-run blast from Edward Duran and a two-RBI single by George Gallardo.
Despite trailing 7-5 heading into the sixth, Miami Dade's offense came alive in dominant fashion. Petite kicked things off with an RBI double, and Talan Beckford followed with a game-tying RBI double of his own. A wild pitch and a sac fly from William Polanco pushed the Sharks ahead 9-7.
Then came the knockout blow: a six-run seventh inning featuring back-to-back home runs by Jovan Swasey and Beckford, followed by a three-run bomb from Polanco to cap off the outburst. In total, Miami Dade collected 16 hits, including four homers and four doubles.
Swasey led the charge with a 3-for-3, 4-run, 2-RBI performance, while Beckford, Petite, and Polanco all drove in three or more runs.
On the mound, Andy Mesa earned the win in relief, striking out nine over four dominant innings. Jeffred Fermin closed it out with a clean seventh for the save.
