Explosive Sixth Inning Fuels Sharks’ 14-7 Win Over Santa Fe
The Miami Dade Sharks erupted for 11 runs in the sixth inning to erase a four-run deficit and cruise past Santa Fe College, 14-7, on Monday afternoon. The Sharks pounded out 16 hits, including five extra-base hits, in a dominant offensive display.
Santa Fe took an early lead with a sacrifice fly in the first inning and added four more runs in the third, highlighted by a two-run home run from Erik Blair. The Saints extended their advantage to 7-3 in the fourth when Zack Dejesus belted a two-run homer to left.
Miami Dade's offense broke out in the sixth, flipping the game completely. The rally began with an RBI single from Adrian Poviones, followed by a two-run single from Michael Petite to pull within one. Talan Beckford tied the game with an RBI double, and Thomas White delivered a two-run double to put the Sharks ahead 9-7. David Zamora continued the onslaught with a two-run double of his own before Cian Copeland capped the inning with a towering two-run homer to right field.
White led the way for the Sharks, going 2-for-3 with three RBIs and two doubles. Zamora also drove in three runs with two hits, while Copeland, Petite, and Poviones each added multiple RBIs.
On the mound, Jordan Vargas (4.0 IP, 7 ER, 6 K) battled through early struggles before Kevin Clemente (3.0 IP, 0 ER, 3 K) shut down the Saints' offense to earn the win in relief.
