Sharks Rally Past Atlantis University with Explosive Mid-Game Surge
After falling behind early, Miami Dade College stormed back with a dominant offensive performance to defeat Atlantis University 10-4.
Atlantis University jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the second inning, capitalizing on RBI hits from Oscar Caicedo, Justin Suarez, and Eddy Perez. However, Miami Dade's offense came alive in the fourth, plating five runs, highlighted by a two-run double from Denixon Suarez and a pair of runs scoring on wild pitches.
The Sharks continued their offensive surge in the fifth, with Willy Mendez delivering a two-run single to extend the lead to 7-4. Santiago Carriles-Alvarado added to the damage in the seventh with an RBI double, while Miami Dade tacked on two more runs in the eighth, capitalizing on another wild pitch and a balk.
Luke Helms picked up the win in relief, throwing two scoreless innings with four strikeouts. Miami Dade's bullpen shut down Atlantis over the final seven innings, with Jordan Vargas earning the save.
