Sharks Secure 8-5 Victory Over Elite Squad Academy
The Miami Dade Sharks powered past Elite Squad Academy with an 8-5 win, fueled by an early offensive surge and a strong bullpen performance.
The Sharks wasted no time, putting up four runs in the second inning. Talan Beckford got things rolling with an RBI double that brought home Santiago Carriles-Alvarado. Denixon Suarez followed with a clutch two-run single, and later came around to score on a wild pitch, giving Miami Dade a commanding 4-0 lead.
Beckford continued his big night in the third inning, launching a solo home run to extend the lead to 6-1. Meanwhile, Elite Squad Academy managed to scratch across a run in the third and another in the fifth, but Miami Dade's pitching kept them in check for most of the night.
The visitors made a late push in the seventh inning, scoring three runs to cut the deficit to 6-5. However, the Sharks responded in the eighth, with Michael Petite delivering an RBI triple and Carriles-Alvarado following with a triple of his own to bring in another insurance run.
On the mound, Andy Mesa started strong with three innings of one-run ball. Jordan Vargas earned the win with two solid innings, while Jose Villegas locked down the save by striking out two in the ninth.
