Miami Dade loses 1st game of Regionals to Chipola

The Miami Dade Sharks baseball team lost the first game of the Regional Round against Chipola College 14-5, Friday evening. The Sharks move to 28-25 on the year with the loss.

The Shark offense was able to put up three runs in the early going but the pitching staff could not hold the lead against the tough Chipola lineup. Dean Guzman and Wilder Puertas led the offense in today's matchup against Chipola as Puertas would go 2 for 2 with a walk and a run and Dean Guzman would go 1 for 3 with a two run blast. Geremy Garcia added two RBI's as well on the night.

On the other side of the ball, Juan Miguel Fernandez struggled as he got the start for the Sharks. He went 4.1 IP with seven hits and seven earned runs.

Miami Dade will look to keep their season alive when they take on Chipola College again tomorrow afternoon.
