Sharks lose 14-8 in high scoring affair to Atlantis

The Miami Dade Sharks baseball team lost a non conference matchup to Atlantis College 14-8 on Tuesday afternoon. The Sharks are now 18-17 on the year with the loss.

Although Miami Dade collected 12 hits in the ballgame it would not be enough to top the Atlantian offense as they notched 16 hits and 14 runs. Atlantis College jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning after Nathaniel Gomez drove in 2 and an error by the Sharks allowed another run to score.

The Sharks bounced back in the bottom of the first inning after Geremy Garcia and Thomas White each drove in 2 RBI's with singles of their own. The Sharks would have a 4-3 lead until the top of the fourth inning when Mustelier and Vasallo each drove in runs for the Atlantians.

The Sharks were able to take over the lead again in the bottom of the sixth thanks to a single by Dean Guzman. Ray Sobrino had other plans though, as he helped tie the game back up at 7-7.

From here on out, the Atlantis offense piled on 7 more including a three run shot in the top of the ninth inning that proved to be the dagger for the Sharks.

Jonathan Ramallo started the game for the Sharks, surrendering five hits and six runs over three and two-thirds innings. Michael Petite would earn the loss for the Sharks as he would also throw two and two-thirds of an inning, giving up four runs.

The Sharks will look to get back in the win column as they take on the Hawks from Hillsborough at Hillsborough. The game is scheduled for 3 PM on Thursday.
