Miami Dade wins game 2 against the Manatees

The Miami Dade Sharks baseball team won the second game of their doubleheader against the State College of Florida Manatees 8-7 on Saturday afternoon. The Sharks move to 14-14 on the year.

The Sharks were the first to strike this afternoon after Maikol Perez singled in the top of the second inning, plating two runners. The Manatees responded in the bottom of the second inning, taking a 3-2 lead but Miami Dade recovered the lead after a double from D'Angelo Ortiz and an RBI single from Thomas White.

Things would take a turn when the Almonte would hit a two run shot to right field to put the Manatees back in the lead. The Sharks would retain the lead in the top of the fifth inning after a Garcia reached on a fielder's choice and White, Zamora and Rodriguez each drove in runs. 

Miami Dade would ultimately win the game 8-7 and hold off the last second push from State College of Florida. 

Enrique Sierra earned the win for Miami Dade as he went two and a third, allowing two hits and two runs whike striking out one.

The Sharks will look to win the series as they take on the Manatees at 4 PM.
