Coach Morales Spotlight

COACH SPOTLIGHT: Head Coach Adrian Morales recently completed his 1st year at the helm of the Sharks Baseball program even though it was interupted by COVID-19. Let's get to know a little about Coach Morales:

1.  What team do you coach? Miami dade college baseball team 

2. where did you play collegiately or professional?

I played two years at Miami Dade College, two years at the University of South Carolina, & 3 years with the Kansas City royals organization. 

3. What is your team philosophy?

Tough minded, hard working, team/family oriented in the classroom as well as on the field. Can’t be successful on the field till we take care of business in the classroom. 

4. Who is your favorite professional team?

The old Florida Marlins 

5. Who is your favorite professional player to influence your career?

Didn’t really have a favorite player, had coaches like Steve hertz and ray tanner to influence me, but my main fuel was My mother, watching her raise four boys to men was what influenced me to become the player I did and man I’ve become. 

6. What is your favorite hobby outside of ( the sport you coach)

Anything that has to do with my two daughters and son 

7. What is your favorite food? Seafood.

I make a mean seafood gumbo with white rice and tostones 

8. What is your favorite sport (outside of the sport you coach)?

Football because it takes a team effort to win it all. Not just on the back of one person. 

9.If you had to give players advice during this time, what would it be?

Control what you can control. Perfect time for student athletes to re-evaluate and get better at their weaknesses. Hopefully during this break guys used it in a positive way and found a way to get better. Remind your loved ones how much they mean to you, and I hope they understand to appreciate life and the sport they play, because at any moment it can be taken away.
