Sharks sweep Titans in conference opener

The MDC baseball team continued its domination of the Titans of Eastern Florida state college on Saturday, as the Sharks were firing on all cylinders in the 10-6 victory to sweep the series.

The Sharks won The first game with a final score 15-8, David Crawford didn't feel much like getting out on Wednesday, tallying five hits and leading Miami Dade College Sharks Varsity to a 15-8 win over Eastern Florida State College. Crawford singled in the third, singled in the fifth, singled in the sixth, and singled in the eighth.

Jose Pichardo was the winning pitcher for Miami Dade College Sharks Varsity. The righthander went five innings, allowing four runs on four hits, striking out two and walking zero.

Game 2

Miami Dade College Sharks defeated Eastern Florida State College 9-5 thanks to a strong start. Miami Dade College Sharks scored on a single by Sujel Arias in the first inning, a double by Erick Orbeta in the second inning, and a single by Arias in the second inning.

Gabriel Figueroa-Hidalgo earned the victory on the mound for Miami Dade College Sharks Varsity. Figueroa-Hidalgo lasted six innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out six and walking one. Carlos Lequerica and Marvin De La Hoz entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. De La Hoz recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Miami Dade College Sharks Varsity.

Game 3

Miami Dade College Sharks fired up the offense in the first inning. Miami Dade College Sharks scored one run when Ian Jenkins doubled.

Anthony Figueroa earned the win for Miami Dade College Sharks. Figueroa lasted two and a third innings, allowing five hits and three runs while striking out three. William Silva threw two and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen. Silva recorded the last eight outs to earn the save for Miami Dade College Sharks.

The Sharks are currently 21-9 overall and 3-0 in conference play.
