Coach Origenes "Kiko" Benoit 400th win

Miami Dade College Women's Volleyball Head Coach Origenes "Kiko" Benoit earned his 400th career victory on September Saturday 21st when the Lady Sharks defeated State College of Florida at Manatee with a final score of 3-0 making it their 6th win in a row.

I am truly grateful for my assistant coaches, who have constantly been managing the team and help me be the best coach I can be. I am also grateful for my student-athletes who have been consistenly putting in the work day in, day out in the classroom and in the court. I would also like to thank my former student-athletes, who continue to praise and support our program."

 

Coach Kiko took over the reins here at Miami Dade College in 2005. Since then, he has tallied a total of 417 wins. Prior to becoming the Head coach of the Sharks Coach Benoit was an assistant coach to Ilida Medero from 1995-2004, were in this time frame, he racked up 330 wins under Coach Medero, giving him a total amount of 747 wins as a Coach.

The Sharks ended their season 3rd in the nation, with a final win over Polk State College 3-0 in the NJCAA National Volleyball Tournament, FCSAA State Champions, and Southern Conference Champions.
