Lady Sharks Volleyball: Southern Conference Champs and More

After their win against Indian River State College on Tuesday, October 17, 2017, the Lady Sharks were crowned the 2017 Southern Conference Champs. The Lady Sharks are currently 24-0 overall, 6-0 in conference play, and number one in the nation and state of Florida. 

Recently, sophomore Sun Wenting was named Player of the Week for her play during the Southern Conference Championship held at Daytona State College this past weekend. During the SoCo Tournament, Wenting averaged 4.5 kills and 4.2 digs per set (11 total) over four matches. 

In addition to Wenting, the Lady Sharks had other players who performed well during the tournament and week. Player Camila Hernandez made the 25 Dig Club after getting 25 digs versus Polk State College on Saturday, October 21, 2017. Players Thais De Castro Andrade and Tiziana Baumrukova both received nominations for honors as well: Andrade (Defensive POTW) and Baumrukova (Setter of the Week). 

The Lady Sharks have two games left on their regular season schedule. They will travel to Daytona State College to compete in the DSC Tournamnet from October 27-28. After the tournament, the Lady Sharks will have a little break before heading to Bradenton, FL to compete in the 2017 FCSAA State Volleyball Tournament from November 3-5.
