Miami Dade struggles from the field in loss to Eastern Florida State College

The Miami Dade Sharks women's basketball team struggled from the field as they lose another conference matchup Tuesday evening. The Sharks drop to 3-12, while the Titans move up to 15-3.

Both teams got off to a slow start in the first quarter going scoreless for the first two minutes of the game. Amelia Hassett broke the seal in this one by driving into the paint for two. The Titans and the Sharks would be knotted up at 8 with 3:43 remaining in the first but this is the closest the Sharks would get all game. Eastern Florida would go on a 17-0 run that carried midway into the second quarter.

The Sharks shooting struggles the field would be magnified in this quarter as they would go 0-14 from the field and their lone point came off a free throw from Irene Fernandez Pavesio. The Titans would close out the first half with a 21-1 run and finish the first half leading 38-11.

The second half would be more of the same as the Sharks would be outscored by 15 in the 3rd quarter. A strong third quarter by Titans' Andrea Chiquemba and Martina Galvez Narro were the driving force for Eastern Florida.

The Sharks would turn it up a notch in the fourth, scoring 23 to the Titans 20 but the lead was too big to overcome.

The Sharks play at home this Thursday when they take on Indian River State College. The game is slated for Thursday, January 27 at 5:30 PM
